This Amazon grocery store allows you to "just walk out"

Amazon has launched a new grocery store, named Amazon Go. What’s special about this store is there is no checkout required when customers shop, no lines either. This means customers are able to just waltz in and waltz out the store without the need of lining up to pay before they exit. They would only require the Amazon Go app to be able to do so.

Amazon Go features a revolutionary “Just Walk Out” technology to provide the “Just Walk Out” experience for shoppers. This feature by Amazon is based on various technologies for self driving vehicles, computer vision, sensor vision and deep learning. Shoppers will be able to “shop normally” as Amazon’s technology can automatically detect when an item is being taken off a shelf and placed into a virtual cart. Shoppers will only be charged after they leave the Amazon Go store.

The beauty of Amazon Go is that shoppers will only require an Amazon account and the Amazon Go app to get the “Just Walk Out” shopping experience. Sounds very much like a utopian shopping environment if it means no lines and no checkout. The Amazon Go store is located at Seattle, Washington, and will likely remain exclusive to Americans for the foreseeable future. The store will be open to public in 2017.
