The ZenFone Live beautifies you in live streams for less than RM700

ASUS’ latest smartphone has a rather unusual feature, and one that you may probably want to buy if you think your face looks crappy when using your phone for live streaming, the ZenFone Live will make your face smooth and fair real time for RM649, ASUS is even proud to claim that this is the world’s first smartphone that offers live beautification technology. Judging from the price tag, we can already assume that this is a rather entry-level device, sporting a 5-inch HD display, an unnamed quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

Since the ZenFone Live is made for live streamers, the front facing camera is obviously the most important feature, ASUS hasn’t been specific on what sensor it uses, the specs sheet merely stated a f/2.2 aperture and 1.4μm pixel size, which we can assume to perform decent in low light, there’s also an LED light if you need to brighten up your live stream. Otherwise, the main camera takes 13-megapixel stills with a f/2.0 aperture, video recording resolution is expected to be HD only. Even though ASUS intended this to be a smartphone for live streaming, the ZenFone Live comes with a rather questionable 2650mAh battery, which can be easily depleted since live streaming uses a lot of power.

The beautification feature will support Facebook Live and YouTube Live, users will need to use the phone’s preinstalled BeautyLive app to use the beautification feature, the phone has a pair of sensitive microphones that will eliminate noise and ensure your voice is heard clearly, it also employs the same 5-magnet speakers found on the ZenFone 3, hence you can expect this phone to be a solid performer in the audio department. The ZenFone Live is currently on preorders at Lazada Malaysia for RM649, stocks will arrive on May 8th, click here if you are interested in purchasing one.
