Not too long ago, Alcatel has been rumored to be working on an Idol 4s variant which is said to be powered by Windows 10. As interesting as it may sound, the handset has been tipped to only be available exclusively with US major carrier T-Mobile. It turns out that borth rumors were true, and we won’t have to wait much longer till a Windows 10 powered Alcatel Idol 4s debuts.
According to the folks at Windows Central, the Windows 10 Alcatel Idol 4s is confirmed for a November 10 launch, which is next Thursday. The same source leaked out the alleged spec sheet of the handset a couple of weeks back. In terms of looks, we’re expecting the same exact Alcatel Idol 4s like its Android counterpart, plus a T-Mobile branding somewhere on the device itself.
Just to recap, the Idol 4s will sport a 5.5-inch Full HD display in front. Underneath the hood, we’ll see a Snapdragon 820 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. On the camera side of things, the phone features a 21MP rear shooter along with an 8MP front facing selfie camera. In terms of specs alone, the Windows 10 model is surely more impressive than the Android variant.
The Windows 10 Alcatel Idol 4s is likely to remain a T-Mobile exclusive when it launches, but we can’t be certain for sure. The phone will set consumers back $469.99 (RM1,973.96) and will be also offered alongside T-Mobile’s carrier plans with instalment like payments. Would you get a Windows 10 smartphone?
