The Vphone S8 has a tiny 1.54-inch screen

Standard mobile phones nowadays mostly have display sizes ranging from 5 to 5.5-inches, with those that are bigger considered as phablets and those that are smaller being compact or mini versions of the original handset. The Vphone S8 is far from the conventional mobile phone of today, mainly due to its tiny display of 1.54-inches. Despite its micro screen, the Vphone S8 is still fully functional as a mobile phone.

The folks behind this tiny phone claims it to be the world’s smallest touch screen phone. It’s 1.54-inch touch screen is at 240 x 240 resolution, which doesn’t sound bad at all considering the screen real estate. Not only does the Vphone S8 work as a standalone phone with a micro SIM slot and a micro SD slot, but it is claimed to work alongside iOS and Android devices as well. For instance, users would be able to send text messages or Tweet remotely from the Vphone S8. It also functions as a shutter release for camera when connect to smartphones, and also being able to answer calls from the paired device via Bluetooth.

Other specs include a heart rate sensor and a pedometer. Since it doesn’t run on Android or any advanced OS, the Vphone S8 only requires 64MB of RAM and 128MB of onboard storage for it to function. Its price? $30.64 (RM128.69), though it would probably work better if it was labeled as a smartwatch or a fitness tracker. What do you think?
