The Vivo X21 offers an In-Display Fingerprint scanner for RM2,299

Forget about face unlock and a super fast physical fingerprint scanner, because Vivo has just brought in the Vivo X21 smartphone, which is technically the first commercially available smartphone to sport an in-display fingerprint scanner. The Vivo X21 comes with pretty beefy specs too and is by far the most powerful smartphone the company has introduced to date, it sports a Snapdragon 660 AIE (AI Edition) SoC supported by 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage, which the latter can still be expanded. Other hardware features includes a notched 6.28″ FHD+ Super AMOLED FullView display that supports P3 colors, a 3200mAh battery and surprisingly, it still uses a MicroUSB port for charging.

Like other Vivo’s smartphones, photography plays an important role on the Vivo X21, the main camera’s dual lens system comprises of a dual pixel 12MP f/1.8 sensor supported by a secondary 5MP sensor for measuring depth information, which the primary sensor is capable of producing clear photos in low light, the familiar AI Scene Recognition feature is also present for the main camera, it is able to detect and identify over 18 tags and 140 scenarios such as portraits, food and plants. The front camera also captures 12MP selfies with dual pixel technology, it is supported by the Vivo’s AI Face Beauty and AI HDR features to deliver naturally beautified shots.

The Vivo X21 will be made available starting 9th June 2018 for RM2,299, it will be available at all Vivo concept stores and authorized resellers. If you are a Digi customer, Vivo is also making the X21 available for purchase on contract as well, and any Vivo smartphones purchased at Vivo concept stores will get an extra 5GB of data for 12 months when signing up for a Digi postpaid plan, this special offer is available starting from July onwards.
