The vivo NEX 2 is rumoured to come with a detachable camera module

Everyone loves a full display — with no notches or holes — in a smartphone, but not everyone would like the solutions to that issue — pop-up cameras, sliders, rotating cameras, etc. So what did Vivo — the first to come up with a pop-up camera design — do? The company allegedly decides to make a phone with a detachable camera module.

Reports suggested that the vivo NEX 2 will come with this detachable module and according to the picture above, the module will probably hold a triple camera setup. This camera module will be attached to a specific slot at the back of the phone when needed and kept away when not needed.

It is also said that the module can be placed at any part of the phone’s display because it has a magnet inside that will allow it to stay attached to the screen. This would mean that if there is indeed three cameras for the back, these cameras will also be used on the front.

What do you guys think of this setup? Vivo might have taken it a bit too far this time. There’s so many questions — what if we lose or forget to bring out the module? Isn’t it weird to stick a module on your screen? Doesn’t it cover your view and cause complications in using your display?
