We already know that the vivo APEX 2019 will be revealed on 24 January 2019, but recently a video was discovered on Weibo teasing the vivo APEX 2019 and it seems like the phone will come with no notch at all.

There is also a render image made by Ben Geskin who claimed to have produced the image based on exclusive information given by the company itself. From both the image and video, the vivo APEX appears to have no bezels, buttons, notch and port.

Since the vivo APEX shows a full screen with no notch or even punch-hole display, we’re expecting it to come with a sliding mechanism that will hold the front camera or maybe a pop-up camera like the vivo NEX. Perhaps the phone will now come with in-screen power and volume buttons since it’s seen to have no physical buttons at all.

As for its charging aspect, it is possible that the vivo APEX will only support wireless charging so there will no longer be a need for a charging port. Besides that, the vivo APEX is also expected to come with an in-display fingerprint scanner since no fingerprint scanner can be seen on the device itself. It may even have a screen that serves as a speaker like the Sound On Display technology that was previously demonstrated by Samsung.

It is indeed a big step for a smartphone to lose so many physical features at once, but it’s also a bold move proving that vivo is ready to bring radical changes to a smartphone’s design.

It’s just one more day before the vivo APEX 2019 is revealed in China, so let’s just be patient and witness if the phone is really as unique as many are expecting.
