It’s a beautiful Friday morning and BMW Malaysia has taken the cloth off it’s third generation mid-size SAV, the BMW X3. The X3 features an all new aggressive design and combines advanced connectivity tech in it, the variant introduced to the Malaysian market is the xDrive30i, which comes with a 4-cylinder 2.0-litre BMW TwinPower Turbo engine that is paired to an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, the car will sprint to 100km/h in 6.3 seconds with a maximum output of 252hp and 350Nm of torque, which is impressively powerful it’s class.
The X3 sees a 55kg reduction in weight due to an intelligent lightweight construction, which enables better fuel efficiency and dynamic performance. The standard Driving Experience Control is also available in the X3, allowing drivers to choose between drive modes of ECO PRO, COMFORT, SPORT and SPORT+ to suit their driving style. Like the rest of the BMW X family, the X3 is rooted in its 50:50 weight distribution and xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system interlinked with the Dynamic Stability Control system, which means the power split between four wheels can be constantly varied to produce the handling characteristics, there’s also Hill Descent Control that helps the car maintain at a steady pace when driving down a steep incline.
Enter the BMW X3, and you will be treated with a sports seat is made of Leather Vernasca with contrast stitching, completed with padded side bolsters and eye-catching shoulder section, the Luxury line also offers a Sensatec-covered instrument panel with contrast stitching and dark oak fine wood interior trim strips with accent strips in Pearl Chrome. The X3 also carries over the 10.25-inch infotainment display and iDrive system from the BMW 5 Series, which comes with touch controls and BMW ConnectedDrive, which the latter allows you to access information from your smartphone and online services.
The third generation BMW X3 will be available nationwide from 25th April 2018, with deliveries commencing starting July 2018, the car will come with BMW’s complete premium ownership experience, including a 5-Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty, 2-Year Tyre Warranty Program, BMW Roadside Assistance, BMW White Card and BMW Service Online. BMW hasn’t gave an exact price of the car, but it is estimated to retail at RM320,000 on the road without insurance.
