The Redmi Pro 2 is expected to launch on 10 January with a 48MP camera

In about a weeks’ time Xiaomi will be hosting an event in China, and we’re expecting a new Redmi phone during the event.

The company posted a teaser poster that announced the launch of a Redmi phone at 2pm on 10 January, and a shadow text wrote “4800” which many are interpreting as the appearance of the 48MP camera.

Xiaomi also posted a poster previously revealing that Redmi Pro 2 is coming, and the huge text on the poster read “4800W”, which seems to be aligning with the new poster hence the conclusion that the Redmi Pro 2 will be launched on 10 January.

Since we’re expecting the Redmi Pro 2, let’s discuss some of the reports on the smartphone. First of all, the Redmi Pro 2 is reported to come with a LCD display and might get the punch hole display like the HONOR View 20 or the Huawei Nova 4.

Besides that, many are expecting the phone to come with a Snapdragon 675 processor, and have up to 6GB RAM. The previous Redmi Pro came with 4050mAh battery, and since the poster wrote “4800”, it might be possible to expect a bigger battery in the Redmi Pro 2.

The Redmi Pro 2 is expected to sport the 48MP rear camera, but apart from that, rumours suggest that the phone will also come with a triple camera setup that includes a wide angle lens. Furthermore, if the phone is coming with a punch hole display, then an in-display selfie camera is a given.

For now, let’s just wait for another 7 days for the revelation of the new Redmi smartphone from Xiaomi.
