The Meitu M6 has 21MP cameras on the front and back

Chinese manufacturers have a history of making selfie-centric smartphones, and the market for good selfie camera smartphones has been growing rapidly. OPPO in particular, has released two pretty impressive ‘Selfie Expert’ handsets, the OPPO F1 and the F1 Plus, both sporting 8MP and 16MP front facing cameras respectively. Another Chinese OEM, Meitu, isn’t planning on losing out to the likes of OPPO, and the company has just unveiled the Meitu M6.

Diving into the spec sheet, the Meitu M6 features a 5-inch LCD display at 1080p resolution. Underneath the hood lies a fairly decent octa core MediaTek Helio P10 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM plus 64GB of internal storage. Powering the Meitu M6 is a 2,900mAh battery, which is probably sufficient considering what the device packs. Also, we’re looking at a very iPhone-esque fingerprint sensor on the front.

The camera department is where the Meitu M6 shines, sporting 21MP cameras, both on the front and back of the device, with f/2.2 aperture. The Meitu M6 carries a 2,399 CNY (RM1,492.64) price tag, with a Hello Kitty special edition model at 2,599 CNY (RM1,617.08), but you’re definitely getting your money’s worth when it comes to the 21MP selfie shooter, plus the same rear camera. What do you think?
