The LG G5 SE features a tamer processor

With the HTC 10 launched yesterday, many rumors are still floating around regarding different variants of flagship handsets by Samsung and LG. In LG’s case, there seems to be an alleged LG G5 SE. The first thing that will strike your mind is probably the SE name, like on the iPhone SE, which features upgraded internals from the iPhone 5s. That isn’t the case for the LG G5 SE, which sports a less powerful, or in other words, a non flagship standard processor like on the original G5.

Cristian Correa, LG’s sales manager in Chile have confirmed that the LG G5 has another variant, which is catered for markets in Latin America, China and other regions. While we’re can’t entirely confirm the full specifications of the LG G5 SE, according to the folks at Android Authority, the handset is powered by a Snapdragon 652 SoC instead of the flagship Snapdragon 820. It is also likely that the SE variant of the G5 will sport 3GB of RAM. one GB lesser than the 4GB of RAM on the original G5.

So what other devices pack the Snapdragon 652 chip under the hood? So far, Samsung’s Galaxy A9, the Alcatel Idol 4s and the OPPO R9 Plus. Speaking about the fresh and new HTC 10, there is also a reported Snapdragon 652 variant launched for the Indian market. What do you think?
