When it comes to matte displays, there’s only just a handful number of devices to choose from, but after we saw the debut of TCL’s NXTPAPER devices and more recently Huawei’s PaperMatte edition tablet, Honor has now joined the game with the Honor Tablet 9.
The Honor Tablet 9 features a 12.1-inch IPS LCD screen with a 2560×1600 pixel resolution and 500nits peak brightness, it uses anti-glare etching to eliminate up to 98% of reflections, and to make the surface more ‘paper-like’, Honor sells a Soft Light version of the tablet with a matte screen protector that’s well suited for scribbling.
Powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip, the Honor Tablet 9 comes with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage, the tablet has an impressive 8-speaker system that supports surround sound, an 8300mAh battery delivers all-day battery life and supports 35W fast charging, and it ships with MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13 out of the box.
The Honor Tablet 9 should eventually make its way to Malaysia, considering that the outgoing Honor Pad 8 is long overdue for a successor, prices in China starts at 1699 CNY (RM1100) for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model, while the top storage model retails at 2199 CNY (RM1423).
