The ASUS ZenFone 5z is extremely affordable at RM1,899

This isn’t the first time, and never going to be the last, as online e-commerce store Lazada has accidentally listed the ZenFone 5z on the ASUS Official Store, the Snapdragon 845 powered flagship is expected to make its local debut at the end of next week, whether this is intentional or not, ASUS has made sure that it wants Xiaomi out of the way with the phone’s attractive price tag.

The ZenFone 5z was introduced at MWC 2018 and looks identical to the mid-range ZenFone 5, it is powered by a Snapdragon 845 AIE processor supported by 6GB RAM+128GB storage or 8GB RAM+256GB storage, it has a 6.2-inch 19:9 FHD+ display, 12MP+8MP dual rear cameras, 8MP selfie camera and a 3300mAh battery. With a retail price of RM1,899, the ZenFone 5z challenges other Snapdragon 845 devices such as the Xiaomi MIX 2S, Mi 8 and OnePlus 6, while the particular chipset used is expected to offer better performance and power efficiency in the long run all thanks to AI.

Both storage variants of the ZenFone 5z will be sold in Malaysia, the top of the line 8GB RAM+256GB storage model is expected to be sold less than RM2,500. Stay tuned throughout the end of July and get your pay checks ready, because ASUS could pretty well empty your wallet with the ZenFone 5z.
