The ASUS Vivobook 16X offers great hardware value at RM2,999

For under RM3000, there isn’t a lot of choices when it comes to 16-inch laptops, and ASUS has decided to offer the Vivobook 16X as a great choice if you are hunting for one, the laptop comes in a single variant that’s powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H processor along with 8GB onboard DDR4 RAM (additional RAM slot available for upgrade) and 512GB of storage, which will cost you just RM2,999.

While it is indeed a little disappointing that ASUS didn’t fit this with an OLED display just like recent releases, you still get a pretty good 16-inch display that pushes 1920×1200 resolution and 300 nits of brightness, while the display hinges can be laid down to a flat 180-degree angle, which can be useful if you require to use the laptop while standing or show your screen to the opposite party.

Ports selection is also pretty similar to other Vivobooks, you get a single USB-C 3.2 Gen 1, two full-sized USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB 2.0, HDMI 1.4 and an audio jack. Unlike the Vivobook 14X OLED we reviewed recently, the Vivobook 16X has a 50Whr battery, which can be a little concerning due to its screen size even though the processor it employs has good power efficiency.

Available in colours of Quiet Blue and Transparent Silver, the Vivobook 16X is available now and can be purchased at Lazada, Shopee and most PC retailers nationwide.
