The 9th Generation Audi A4 launches in Malaysia with great value and features

Audi Malaysia has unveiled the latest model of its best selling A4 sedan, which comes with a 2.0 TFSI engine at launch and prices start from RM249,800, the car will be made available from September 20 onwards at all Audi dealerships. In terms of design, the new Audi A4 features some very nice changes on the surface, which includes a new design for its LED daytime running lights, new side mirrors that sits on the shoulders of the car found on the Audi TT and R8, and a slightly larger body than its predecessor. Though the car sees an increase in size, it is 120kg lighter than its predecessor all thanks to a mix of materials and lightweight design, it also has a stronger chassis built as well for better safety.

The A4’s 2.0 TFSI four-cylinder engine is mated to a 7-speed S tronic gearbox, which produces 190hp of power and 320Nm of torque, allowing the car to sprint from 0-100km in just 7.3 seconds with a top speed of 240km/h, fuel efficiency is also rather impressive with Audi claiming a combined consumption of 5.0 litres/100km and CO2 emissions rating of 114g/km. In addition, the new A4 is also built on the MLB-Evo platform that underpins the Q7 SUV, the chassis works in tandem with its electromechanical power steering system and newly developed five-link adaptive comfort suspension system with damper control to filter out road unevenness for passengers whilst ensuring optimal driver feedback.

On the technology part, Audi offers an optional Technology Package that upgrades the car’s standard analog instrument cluster to the Audi Virtual Cockpit, which is a 12.3-inch display panel that offers easy access to the car’s MMI navigation system and displays information of the car, it will also have support for Audi Connect, Android Auto and Apple Carplay, which is the first premium car brand to offer the smartphone car experience feature. As a standard inclusion, the A4’s entertainment experience includes a 7-inch display that is paired with a 6-channel amplifier and 10 loudspeakers that outputs a total of 180 watts. Last but not the least, Audi drive select also comes as standard, allowing the driver to adjust the car’s suspension, engine and drivetrain for the best driving experience, safety features of the car includes Electronic Stabilisation Control, Traction Control, Electronic Brake Force Distribution, Electronic Differential Lock, parking aid plus with selective display, Anti-lock Braking System and a total of 6 airbags.

Audi intends to introduce an entry-level 1.4 TFSI and a performance oriented 2.0 TFSI quattro variant by January 2017, as for the current A4 2.0 TFSI model, it will be available in ten colours at launch: Glacier White, Floret Silver, Matador Red, Tango Red, Argus Brown, Scuba Blue, Monsoon Grey, Manhattan Grey and Mythos Black, a special Daytona Grey with pearl effect is available exclusively for the optional S line package, which will come with a more aggressive front and rear bumper, 18” 5-twin-spoke star design alloy wheels, Alcantara leather front sport seats in black, S line sport leather steering wheel and other sporty features, costing RM25,000. On the other hand, the Technology Package will be available shortly and on top of the in-car technology stuffs, it will include Matrix LED headlights with dynamic indicators at the front and a rear view camera.
