Tencent set to release the Ying drone at the end of this month

Tencent, creators of the popular messaging app called WeChat, will be releasing a drone at the end of the month, and it is capable of both 4K video capture and 720p livestreaming.

Called the Ying drone, the drone is the result of a partnership between Tencent, Qualcomm and Chinese drone maker Zerotech. Weighing in at less than a pound, the Ying is a small, foldable quadcopter that is designed to stream 720p videos directly to WeChat. For standard video capture, the Ying drone comes with a camera that is able to capture 4K videos.

As for pricing, the Ying drone will supposedly be price at around the USD300 mark. It will be available in China by the end of October, although nothing has been said of a launch outside of the mainland.
