Taylor Swift reunites with Spotify

It was in 2014 when Tay Tay announced her split with popular music streaming app Spotify, where the famous country star turned pop artist cried foul over the fact that her music was made available in the free ad supported version of Spotify. She compared the music streaming service to the likes of Rhapsody and Beats Music, where users had to pay for a premium package to access Swift’s music. But that has changed, as Swift was be getting back together with Spotify, which has now grown its paid subscriber base to an impressive 50 million.

Swift made the announcement to celebrate 10 million copies of her “1989” album sold worldwide. At the same time, the singer has sold 100 million of her songs in total, which is quite the achievement. The fact that Spotify’s artists have been getting better payouts in terms of royalty could also be one of the reasons why Swift made this decision.

Taylor Swift’s reunion with Spotify might result in die hard Swifties making a return to using the music streaming app once again. Besides, the paid version of Spotify isn’t any expensive to begin with, at RM14.90 a month. Spotify is also currently offering new users 3 months of subscription for the same price. Are you affected with Tay Tay’s return to Spotify?
