TAITRA successfully kicks of the grand finale of Taiwan Excellence Intercollege Battle 2018

The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) has successfully held the grand finale of the largest intercollege eSports tournament that’s ever held in Malaysia in conjunction with the Taiwan Excellence trade expo in Malaysia.

The Taiwan Excellence Intercollege Battle 2018 (TEIB 2018) is sponsored by Acer Predator, ASUS ROG and MSI, while other Taiwanese technology companies such as Aorus by Gigabyte, In Win, Kingmax, D-Link, Team Group, Thermaltake, Transcend and Adata XPG has supported the initiative of this event.

With a prize pool of RM130,000, students from over ten Malaysian universities have participated this event to compete in Dota 2, CS:GO and League of Legends, three top winning teams from each of the universities are then selected to face their final challenge in a three day event starting 26-28 October 2018 at Sunway Pyramid Ice Skating Rink.

“It is an absolute privilege to host this tournament in Malaysia, and we are honoured to receive an overwhelming response with this initiative,” said Patty Yen, Deputy Executive Director of Strategic Marketing Department of Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). “TEIB has enabled us to draw closer to the fast-growing e-Sports community and Malaysian universities, also allowing us to feature the best of Taiwan products and technology. We hope to make this an annual gathering for gamers.”

During the grand finale, not only visitors can experience the intense gaming session of the grand finale but also able to check out the most innovative Taiwanese technology products from the above partners. TAITRA looks forward to host the next TEIB in Malaysia in the following year and to further introduce more of Taiwan’s innovative technology products to the rest of the world.
