Synology's RT1900ac router is now official in Malaysia

The wait is finally over, Synology has finally started selling its first network router in the Malaysian market, the Taiwanese NAS firm has also confirmed this piece of news to us when contacted and we’ve managed to find a listing by local retailer ClickAsia over at Lazada. The Synology RT1900ac was unveiled last year in COMPUTEX, it is a high performance router that comes with the company’s very Synology Router Manager (SRM) operating system, which adapts features from its NAS’ DiskStation Manager operating system albeit with more networking centric features. The RT1900ac has four gigabit LAN ports, a USB 3.0 port, dual-band WiFi 802.11ac with transfer speeds of up to 1900Mbps.

Judging by the selling price by ClickAsia, it would seem that the RT1900ac is supposed to be officially priced at RM999, which is rather close to its expected selling price of US$180 before taxes. The RT1900ac has a lot of impressive software features under the hood, we’ve seen how it is able to filter and monitor content of connected users, advanced parental controls and protection from network intruders. Furthermore, Synology’s SRM works technically like a Linux operating system on your browser and can also be used as a NAS serve when an external storage is connected, users can also install additional apps from Synology’s Package Center and have it become a personal server as well.

We’ll be getting a review unit of the RT1900ac from Synology really soon, so stay tuned to our site while await its arrival.
