Steam Deck to launch and start shipping by end of February

Valve’s Steam Deck was originally planned to launch by December 2021, but material shortages pushed it back till February 2022 instead. Today, we received an update as to when the console will be officially showcased.

The company will be sending out the first batch of emails on 25 February 10am PST to reservation holders and these batches will be sent on a weekly basis. Once customers have replied within three days from receipt of their order email to make their purchase, the first units will be shipped out by 28 February.

Press units will also be sent out for full reviews soon but only expect the reviews to be up starting 25 February since it’ll be on embargo until then. However, the company tells us to keep an eye out for preview coverages and impressions before that.

Sadly, there was no mention of a global launch but even PS5s are not in stock locally so it won’t be a surprise if it never reaches Malaysia for the rest of the year. For more information, you can visit the blog post here.
