Spotify adds video podcast feature, currently testing with YouTube celebrities

For the longest time, Spotify has been an app that people download for music and podcasts. Well, that’s all about to change because the streaming service is now experiencing with video podcasts.

According to a report by The Verge, the new video podcast feature is currently being tested with two YouTube celebrities — Zane Hijazi and Heath Hussar. This experimental feature will let creators upload video footage to Spotify whereby 50% of Spotify’s podcast listeners will get access to it.

Even though it’s at an experimental stage, this feature will most likely be introduced in the future which will help more creators share their video content with others. This is also not Spotify’s first attempt to include visuals in its app — the company previously added Canvas, a feature that offers looping videos to selected songs.

If you wanna check out the video podcasts now, you just have to go on Spotify and search for Zane and Heath: Unfiltered. At the time of writing, episode 28 to 31 all come in video forms.
