Spotify launches Spotify Lite for Android users; reported to stream smoothly on 3G networks

We know Spotify has its basic/free membership and premium membership, but now the music streaming service will introduce Spotify Lite — made for data and budget-conscious users.

Spotify Lite allows users to play all its songs for free even on slow networks and reduce the data usage on the app, allowing users to control the amount of data the app can utilise. The app will also take up less space compared to the standard version, enabling a quicker download.

There are already users praising the launch of its lite version, saying the app works smoothly even in 3G networks. According to Google Play’s site, the app has already achieved more than 1,000,000 installs and 4.2/5 rating.

For now, Spotify Lite is only available for Android users with Android version 4.1 and above. iOS users have yet to support this version of Spotify.
