Spotify’s new app is finally available for smartwatches with Wear OS and it has significant improvements.

Spotify is now a standalone app for Google smartwatches, thanks to the partnership with Fossil Group. The updated app has on-the-go access to music and podcasts, so users can easily access control and connect music from their smartwatches. Users will still need the smartphone to stream music, though accessing playlists could be done through the smartwatches.

Spotify also introduce Spotify Connect for users to enjoy music through home devices and speakers. By connecting to the same Wi-Fi network, users can play music out loud at home while they proceed with their daily activities. The new integration in the app also allows easier access to recently played song, in addition to users being able to favourite new songs they discover.

According to Spotify, the app will be rolling out over the coming week.
