A special edition OnePlus 5 will be launched in Paris

Last year saw OnePlus launch its flagship in an aluminium build for the first time in the company’s history. The aluminum body OnePlus 3 paved the way for the company to offer more color options with the OnePlus 3T. OnePlus even partnered up with colette in France to release 250 units of colette edition OnePlus 3T’s in a sleek black design. OnePlus is probably doing something similar this year.

The Chinese startup won’t be collaborating with colette this time round, but will instead be working with Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, a popular French designer. The launch event will be held in Paris next week on September 19, where a teaser with a statement saying, “When the style meets its machine, one night in September in Paris.

We’re guessing that like what OnePlus did with the OnePlus 3T last year, the special edition OnePlus 5 will sport some form of designer logo on its back panel. It is possible that the 2017 flagship might even see a new color option with Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. The phone is currently available in Midnight Black, Slate Gray and more recently, Soft Gold color models.

The special edition OnePlus 5 will also be extremely limited when it launches next week. Judging by the fact that only 250 units of colette edition OnePlus 3T’s were made, OnePlus might just do the same with the OnePlus 5.
