Sony Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium receive Android Nougat

Sony’s 2015 flagship series has finally gotten Android Nougat after what seems to be a pretty long wait. The Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium now have Nougat rolling out to them, with an Xperia Z5 Compact rollout expected to commence really soon. The latest software update comes with a bunch of improvements, Nougat exclusive features and more.

According to Xperia Blog, the software update with the build number 32.3.A.0.372 is currently on the roll out to selected Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium handsets. Software updates for the Z5 Compact, Z3+ and Z4 Tablet is slated to arrive shortly as well. Nougat software for Sony’s 2015 flagship lineup will definitely include multi-window support as specified by Sony. The update will bring a smarter Xperia home screen as well, with Google Now integration. Sony has also made selfie capturing much easier along with the software update, adding a new self timer button for selfie shots.

Another notable improvement is Sony’s promise of better battery life with the Android Nougat update, including more battery saving features on top of the already impressive STAMINA battery saving mode which is exclusive to Sony devices. Do note that the software update is nearly 1,300MB in size, so it is more advisable to have a stable Wi-Fi connection for downloading.
