The Sony Xperia 10 II reaches Malaysian shores for RM1799

Sony isn’t quite as competitive when it comes to their smartphone offerings, but the company has continued to introduce the Xperia 10 II to the Malaysian market, it is a mid-range spec device that comes with a 6″ 21:9 Full HD+ OLED display, perfect if you don’t want to pay too much for the more expensive Xperia 1.

Specs is pretty modest for this one, as it is powered by a Snapdragon 665 chipset  supported by 4GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. The phone is IP68 certified water and dust resitant, while you get a triple camera system on the rear that comprises of a 12MP f/2 Sony Exmor main lens, an 8MP telephoto lens and 8MP ultra-wide 120-degree lens, it supports 4K video recording with SteadyShot stabilization.

The XPERIA 10 II is really all about its 21:9 display, where you get to enjoy a cinematic viewing experience when watching videos in landscape and less scrolling when viewing content in portrait, most video content on smartphones are usually formatted in 16:9, which will result in huge black bars or cropped when zoomed in.

Additionally, the phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack and will support Sony’s DSEE HX Hi-Res audio upscaling feature, audio performance should be decent.

Sony is selling the XPERIA 10 II at RM1,799 when it is made available starting in June, with color options of Mint, Blue, White and Black, while the specs are downright underwhelming when compared to the rest, the entertainment features of this phone is something to look forward to.
