Sony PlayStation 5 design finally revealed; new game titles confirmed

This is the new Sony PlayStation 5, and what a looker Sony’s latest gaming console is. The reveal event took place earlier this morning, where two consoles were introduced – the regular PlayStation 5 and the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition.

Digital Edition?

The latter doesn’t have a disk drive – as its name suggests, the machine only runs digital copies of video games. With that said, the PlayStation 5 is said to have “best-in-class” storage speeds, along with ample storage space for games – so an all-digital version of the console sounds like it’ll sell.

Futuristic aesthetics

The design of the machine itself boasts the same black and white aesthetics of the accompanying DualSense controller, which was introduced much earlier this year. Also like the controller, a blue LED accents the device – it could also act as a visual cue for when the console is in different states (on/off/rest).

Standing tall

Like its competitor, the Microsoft Xbox Series X, the PS5 looks like it’s built to be placed vertically – this orientation should eat up less space around your house; however, you can also choose to place it down horizontally if you’re a traditionalist.

PlayStation 5 games

The PlayStation 5 will be available this Christmas, while its official pricing has yet to be announced – what has been announced are the list of PS5 games that are in the works – there’s Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales, Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, and Resident Evil 8: Village.
