Sony Malaysia launches the Xperia XZ Premium and XA1 Ultra

Its an exciting time for smartphone lovers, as Sony has finally brought in the long anticipated Xperia XZ Premium to the Malaysian shores, making it the first official Snapdragon 835 powered device to be sold right here, the company has also brought in the Xperia XA1 Ultra phablet, which features a 6-inch display and an optical stabilized front 16-megapixel camera. Both smartphones will be available for purchase starting from June 2017 onwards and Sony is giving away some goodies to those who pre-order the phones.

The Xperia XZ Premium is the first ever smartphone to feature a 4K HDR display on a 5.5-inch Gorilla Glass 5 display, the phone uses the company’s BRAVIA TV technology such as TRILUMINOS Display, X-Reality for mobile and Dynamic Contrast Enhancer so that pictures look immersive on the display. Apart from using the fastest Snapdragon processor, the XZ Premium has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, there’s a rather small 3230mAh battery onboard which Sony claims rather efficient with its battery optimization features.

Like the previous Xperia XZs, the XZ Premium’s 19-megapixel motion-eye camera can shoot 960fps slow motion videos, the 1/2.3-inch sensor is also equipped with SteadyShot with Intelligent Active mode and 5-axis optical stabilization, it shoots 4K videos at 30fps. As for the selfie camera, it is a 13-megapixel sensor with a wide 22mm angle and f/2.0 aperture, nothing too shabby for a premium flagship.

Pre-orders of the Xperia XZ Premium and XA1 Ultra will begin from 25 May till 4 June at selected Sony Stores, Sony Mobile Stores, Sony Centres, authorised dealers and 11street. The Xperia XZ Premium will retail at RM3,399, and customers who pre-order the phone will receive a Sony SBH80 Bluetooth headset worth RM399, a limited edition Touch n Go card with RM100 value, Screen Warranty Care+ and a transparent case with tempered glass screen protector, which is of RM728 of value. On the other hand, users who pre-order the Xperia XA1 Ultra will receive a free UCH12W Quick Charger worth RM199 and a transparent case with tempered glass screen protector.
