It has been a year since the launch of SOCAR, and now the company has reached a milestone by having 1000 cars that can be used for the car-sharing service, in addition to announcing the expansion of the service to northern region.
With 1000 cars, SOCAR members can now picked from over 15 car models whether it is an Axia, Myvi or MINI 5 Door. According to the CEO of SOCAR Malaysia, Leon Foong, the company wants to offer “the public with an affordable and flexible option for a car or second car,” hence the reason why the company invested in a variety of car models so that SOCAR members are able to pick a car based on their personal taste and suitability.
The car-sharing platform will also be available in Penang from 1 February 2019 with 50 cars placed in 21 zones all over the mainland and island such as Sunway Hotel Seberang Perai, Caltex Jalan Jelawat, Gurney Paragon, 1st Avenue Penang and so on. SOCAR members can also book a car for a one-way drive from Kuala Lumpur to Penang.
To provide SOCAR members with more benefits, SOCAR members can now enjoy one-way drives from Kuala Lumpur to Penang for free when they use the promo code “PENANG”. This promotion started from 16 January and will end on 31 January. However, these complimentary one-way drives are only available at selected one-way zones, and the drop-off point is in Queensbay Mall’s SOCAR parking zones.
SOCAR also plans on continuing its expansion in the near future and will probably be bringing in more cars for its expansion. SOCAR can be downloaded in both App Store and Google Play Store.
