This Snapchat AR charity lens helps fight COVID-19

The current pandemic situation has caused distress to many, but it has also brought out the generosity in many individuals and organizations. In response to the outbreak, Snapchat has launched an AR charity lens in Malaysia and 32 other countries so that Snapchatters can quickly and easily donate to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

Snapchatters will be able to access the AR lens via the lens carousel, Snapcode or by using Scan. When the lens is used, Snapchatters will get an AR experience that demonstrates how their donations will help WHO’s efforts in fighting the pandemic. You just need to point your Snapchat lens towards a RM10 banknote and the animation will begin.

This new donation lens is a collaborated effort between Snapchat and the United Nations Foundation who created the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. Previously, Snapchat has also partnered with WHO to release a global COVID-19 filter and some health-related Bitmoji stickers so that users can get accurate information and also be reminded to practice good hygiene especially during trying times like this.

The new lens will be rolling out globally today, so you should be getting them within the next few days.
