Sandisk introduces 256GB capacity model to the Ultra and Extreme MicroSD cards

While 256GB memory cards are nothing new, they are relatively expensive to own. Sandisk has introduced such storage capacity to its Sandisk Ultra and Extreme family, which is commonly used for smartphones and action cameras, therefore if you are thinking to store lots of media content in your smartphone or tablet, you can finally purchase one of these ‘mobile friendly’ memory cards easily from stores.

But…

They are still not really affordable despite not being the super high end memory cards, the slower 256GB Sandisk Ultra will retail at $149.99 (RM608) while the faster Sandisk Extreme is priced significantly higher at $199.99 (RM800). In terms of performance, the Sandisk Ultra is able to deliver up to 90MB/s of read and 45MB/s of write speeds, while the Sandisk Extreme will offer even higher data transfer speeds at 100MB/s read and 95MB/s write, which justifies the price jump over the Ultra. Last but not the least, these MicroSD cards will have the common protection features such as waterproof, temperature-proof, shock-proof and x-ray proof.

The 256GB Sandisk Ultra and Extreme will be available in August, so make sure to hit up your nearby IT stores if you ever want that much of storage for your devices.
