SanDisk debuts the world's first 1TB SD card

How big can you go with SD cards? Well, SanDisk’s got the answer as it has just announced the “world’s first” 1TB SD card.

SanDisk’s new 1TB SDXC card is part of the company’s Extreme PRO line, whose maximum storage capacity SD card so far sits at 512GB. While this 1TB SD card is just a prototype, meaning it is not available for purchase just yet, SanDisk claims that this SD Card will be able to handle 4K, 8K, VR and 360-degree videos. As the SD card is still a prototype, little information is known about the card aside from its storage capacity.

Prices for the card have yet to be announced, but going by the fact that the 512GB Extreme PRO SD card that SanDisk currently sells is priced at around USD300 (RM1,242), do expect to fork out a pretty significant sum of cash to get it.
