Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S8 might sport an edge-to-edge display

Yet another batch of rumours about the Samsung Galaxy S8 has leaked, and this leak focuses on the general design of the phone. According to Bloomberg’s sources, it appears that the upcoming phone from Samsung will be sporting a bezel-less display.

While the specifics won’t be available until Samsung decides to unveil the S8 itself, the sources have mentioned that the S8 will sport wraparound displays that uses OLED technology. To accomodate the bezel-less display, the sources mentioned that Samsung will indeed be removing the physical home button, choosing instead to embed a virtual home button underneat the glass in the lower section of the phone.

Other information that has been revealed by said sources includes the fact that the S8 will be available in two variants, a 5.1″ S7-like model and a 5.5″ S7 Edge-like model. Selected models of the phone will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chip while others will use the Exynos processors. As for the release date, Samsung is looking to launch the phone in March. However, the company’s recent problems with the Note 7 could see Samsung push the S8 to April in order to run more quality assurance tests.
