Samsung's Galaxy S8 A.I. assistant will work with all native apps

We’ve known for a while now that Samsung’s Galaxy S8 will come with its own A.I. assistant made by Viv Labs. Today, leaks regarding this assistant’s capabilities were leaked, and it appears that this assistant will be much more prominent that expected.

According to SamMobile’s sources, it appears that the Galaxy S8 assistant, which is reportedly called Bixby, will be available in almost all native apps. Bixby’s capabilities itself is similar to that of Google Assistant as you can ask Bixby to show you pictures and videos that fulfill certain criteria when you’re inside the Gallery app for example. In addition to that, Bixby is said to be able to offer answers and actions based on the context, something both Google Assistant and Siri is capable of.

Besides Bixby, the sources have also reveal some additional information about the S8. For one, Samsung has updated most of its native apps with a new UI that makes them look similar to one another. The company has also make it so that the status bar on the Galaxy S8 will always be visible, meaning you’ll no longer need to swipe twice to access notifications and quick setting toggles.
