Samsung has begun releasing the Android 10 update roadmap for its devices in many regions, but surprisingly all these roadmaps are excluding the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8.

The roadmaps all point to the fact that the first Galaxy S10 series will be the first to get One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 in January 2020, followed by several other devices like the Galaxy M20, Galaxy S9 series and more — but none mentioned the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 that were released in 2017.

One UI 2 update schedule from r/Android

While the two models were shipped with Android 7 Nougat and received their upgrades up to Android 9, there are many who argued that they should have been shipped with Android 8 from the beginning. This would’ve saved them from being excluded from Samsung’s Android 10 update roadmap, but sadly that isn’t the case.

In the meantime, Samsung is rolling out the Android 10 update to many of its recent devices, but some may have to wait till September 2020 to get the update. By then, we might already be looking at Android 11.
