Samsung has just launched a new Galaxy On8 in India earlier today, adding another handset to their budget “On” lineup. Apart from that, its spec sheet sounds like just another mid range device in Samsung’s huge collection, but let’s take a look at it anyway.
The Galaxy On8 differs from the likes of the Galaxy On5 and On7, sporting an Super AMOLED panel as opposed to an LCD one, at 5.5-inches and in 1080p resolution. This will mean deeper blacks, more saturated and vibrant colors compared to the On5 and On7. Underneath the hood is a unnamed 1.6 GHz processor, which could possibly be Samsung’s home grown Exynos 7870 Octa. Coupling the processor are 3GB of RAM plus 16GB of onboard storage, expandable via micro SD.
The rear camera on the Galaxy On8 is a 13MP shooter with an impressive f/1.9 aperture to capture more light, plus a 5MP selfie camera on the front. The handset packs a 3,300mAh battery. Other specs include VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) support for crystal clear calls on supported carriers and devices. The Galaxy On8 is an India exclusive device as mentioned in the title, and will be available through FlipKart (exclusively as well) starting this coming 2nd of October. The phone carries a price tag of INR 15,990 (RM994.87). What do you think?
