Samsung rolls out Android Oreo beta for selected Galaxy S8 users

As Android Oreo increases in popularity from its recent official release, smartphone companies are beginning to tease their own version of software based on the latest Android version. Some companies have already kicked off their respective Oreo beta programs, and Samsung is the latest in line to do so.

Samsung has announced its Samsung Experience 9.0 beta program today for Galaxy S8 and S8+ users. Just for old time’s sake, Samsung Experience is previously known as TouchWiz, infamously known for bloatware and constant lag overtime. Samsung has upped its game in recent years, now running a much more lightweight software based on Android. The Galaxy Note 8 runs on Samsung Experience 8.5, hence the 9.0 version will be operating on top of Android Oreo.

Samsung’s next flagship smartphone will be running on Android Oreo out of the box as promised by the company. The Samsung Experience 9.0 beta program will be open to Galaxy S8 and S8+ users in the US, UK and South Korea. Samsung did not mention any future availability of the beta software in other regions.

By running Samsung’s beta Oreo software, you will experience the new features that come with Android Oreo. Of course, you will be exposed to bugs on the way, in which you can contribute by providing feedback through the beta program. This beta program also means that it won’t be long before Samsung releases the official Android Oreo software for the Galaxy S8 series.
