Samsung would rather stretch screens than bend them

We have always heard about companies taking out screens that can bend but Samsung has taken a step further by showing off stretchable screens. They have just unveiled a 9.1 inch OLED prototype display that can stretch, bend, roll and even dent it up to half an inch deep, while still retaining its original shape. Samsung stated that the screen can be implemented into all types of devices that require a screen including wearables and in-car displays.

They did not stop there, they company also showed off a 1.96 inch 4K LCD with a pixel density of 2,250 pixels per inch which would be ideal for VR eliminating the gap in-between pixels that we see in other VR devices. Samsung also showed a 5.06 inch OLED with stereoscopic 3D that does not require you to wear glasses to see the effect. They stated that by using OLED, it will offer more natural-looking results compared to LCD.

It would seem that Samsung is trying to target three different markets with this unveil but again, we been hearing about bending screens and foldable screens which has still not seen the light of day. Will this just be another hype? Or will they actually release this to the public and be the first to bring this tech to consumers.
