Samsung has created an “unbreakable” OLED screen for smartphones

Samsung has announced that they have created an unbreakable OLED panel that has been certified by Underwriter Laboratories(UL) as an unbreakable product. Underwriters Laboratories is the official testing company for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the US Department of Labour.

UL has stated that that display has managed to survive a drop from 1.2 meters above the ground and it has managed to survive 26 drops in a row. Whats even more impressive, it managed to function normally with no damage. In addition to that, it also manages to survive tests in high and low-temperature environments and they also went as far as to test a 6 feet drop and it showed no signs of damage. Samsung stated that they managed to create this panel using an unbreakable substrate as well as an overlay window that is securely adhered to it.

Samsung added that this screen is made to be used in smartphones but it could also work for automobiles, mobile military devices, portable game consoles and tablets. We are not sure if this screen will be seen in the Galaxy Note 9 which will be announced next month, but it might be too late to implement this display in the upcoming phone.
