Samsung launches the Galaxy SmartTag to help users track their belongings

During the Unpacked event, Samsung also announced a small Bluetooth tracker called the Galaxy SmartTag. It’s similar to Tile, a squarish tag that can be hung on devices to track them when needed.

Attach the Galaxy SmartTag to any important items to track them

The Galaxy SmartTag retails for $29.99 and can be attached to any devices via a key ring. Users can download Samsung’s SmartThings app to track their lost objects via the Galaxy SmartTag — the app has a proximity indicator and the tag will ring with a tap of the button on the app.

SmartTag+ will come with Ultra-wideband technology

Samsung is also introducing a UWB version of the SmartTag called the SmartTag+. The upgraded variant features spatial accuracy by combining navigation and AR, so users will be guided to their lost item in a more precise method. Unfortunately, the SmartTag and SmartTag+ are only compatible with the Galaxy devices and cannot be used with other Android phones or iPhones.

The Galaxy SmartTag+ will be available later this year at $39.99 whereas the Galaxy SmartTag can be purchased starting January 29.
