Samsung Galaxy C5 with antenna bands in leaked images

With most flagships out, we’ve been coming across a ton of leaks over the world wide web regarding midrange devices from major OEM’s, not to mention countless Chinese manufacturers. This time, we’ve spotted a leaked image of a Samsung mid-ranger, which oddly, features antenna bands that seem to be not of Samsung’s world.

Introducing the Samsung Galaxy C5, courtesy of the folks at French site Nowhereelse.fr, spilling its front and rear panels in amateur camera photos. The display shows the boot-up screen with the words “Samsung Galaxy C5”, in typical Samsung Galaxy fashion. The device’s rear is where things start to remind us of a particular smartphone by a fellow OEM. We’re talking about last year’s flagship by HTC, the One M9.

If you haven’t known, Samsung smartphones don’t usually have antenna bands running across its rear side, if not never at all, but don’t take my word for it. Nevertheless, the back of the Galaxy C5 definitely utters a couple of the One M9’s design elements. The large square-ish primary camera lens speaks the One M9’s design language as well, but this one protrudes, in typical Samsung Galaxy fashion. The front panel on the other hand, definitely looks to be of a Samsung Galaxy handset. Specs-wise, the Galaxy C5 is said to sport a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 617 under the hood with 4GB of RAM.

The handset is rumored to be sold only in mainland China. What do you think of the Galaxy C5 taking a couple of design cues from HTC?
