More options are in store for the mid-ranged segment as Samsung announces two new additions to their portfolio – the Samsung Galaxy A30 and the Samsung Galaxy A50.

The two phones were revealed during MWC 2019 in Barcelona and despite being mid-ranged models, they boast impressive specs. Beginning with the A30 – it features a sizable 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display, a dual-lens back camera (16MP PDAF + 5MP), and a respectable 16MP front-facing camera.

Under the hood, the phone comes with an Exynos 7904 chipset and 4GB+64GB ROM or 3GB+32GBROM. The phone is powered by a 4,000mAh battery, which is surprising for a mid-ranged phone to have. The A30 also features a Type-C charging port.

The more premium Samsung Galaxy A50 will also sport a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display, but that’s about all it shares with its cheaper sibling. The Galaxy A50 will come equipped with a triple-lens setup (25MP PDAF + 8MP ultrawide + 5MP). The selfie camera is even more impressive – it features a 25MP lens.

In terms of memory and storage, you get an option of either a 4GB + 64GB ROM combo or a 6GB + 128GB ROM combo.

The Galaxy A50 will be the first phone to come with Samsung’s Exynos 9610 chipset. The phone is powered by a 4,000mAh battery and sports a Type-C port. The phone also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner as opposed to the Galaxy A30’s back-mounted scanner.

There haven’t been official price tags set for the two devices yet, but we can safely assume that you can get them for less than RM2,000. The phones are expected to arrive sometime June or July this year.
