Samsung announces massive micro-LED and gaming-ready Neo QLED TVs

Samsung has just launched a couple of new TVs for the medium- to large-sized home during their Unbox & Discover event earlier this morning. micro-LED The first product is a micro-LED panel – we previously saw the 110-inch model announced late last year; but now Samsung has confirmed that we’ll also be getting a 99-inch version – which will be available at the end of March like the 110-inch model; while an 88-inch TV is also set to arrive this Fall (September to December). The micro-LED TVs are so large that they can acts as four smaller panels, thanks to the 4Vue (quad view) feature – this basically lets you display four different sources simultaneously. We’re not sure how audio prioritization works – but we figure you get sound from the source you choose, while the rest remains muted. Neo QLED For something more conventional, Samsung’s Neo QLED TVs are available in 65-inches, 75-inches, and 85-inches for the 8K panels, and a 50-inch one that pushes a 4K resolution. As the name suggests, the TVs use Quantum Mini LEDs that – at 1/40th of the size of a regular LED – allows for finer control of light emission; meaning better contrasts thanks to deeper blacks, and brighter lights. The TVs are also equipped with a Neo Quantum Processor that’s also responsible for upscaling content, and more. When it comes to gaming, the TVs are capable of outputting at 4K 120 FPS, along with a low 5.8ms response time. There’s also support for Freesync Premium Pro that offer low frame rate compensation, low latency even with HDR enabled. There’s no word on the local pricing and availability of the devices mentioned above yet, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated posted when we get more information.
