Samsung allegedly developing a 150MP ISOCELL sensor

You’ve seen the 108MP sensor on the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and the Xiaomi Mi Note 10, but (unsurprisingly) no one is stopping there. Reports suggest that Samsung is now working on a new ISOCELL sensor, and this time it’ll be a 150MP sensor.

While the ISOCELL sensor has not gotten an official name yet, it will allegedly be a 1-inch sensor with 150 megapixels crammed into the small square place. It will also be utilising Samsung’s Nonacell technology that uses pixel-binning to create a 16MP photo.

If the history repeats itself, then we will be seeing a Xiaomi flagship with the new ISOCELL sensor — expected to launch at the end of this year. Other brands may follow too, but Samsung will probably skip the new sensor on its Galaxy Note 20 series.

Will 150MP sensors be the stopping point? We don’t think so.
