Samsung 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 SSD launches in Malaysia

Samsung Malaysia has officially brought in the 990 PRO SSD, a PCIe 4.0 SSD that’s equipped with the company’s 3-bit MLC V-NAND and new proprietary controller, the 990 PRO claims a sequential read and write speeds of 7,450MB/s and 6,900MB/s respectively, random transfer speeds are rated at 1,400K IOPS for read and 1,550K IOPS for write.

Designed for gaming PCs and consoles, the 990 PRO is built on a low-power architecture which Samsung claims up to 50% of efficiency compared to the 980 PRO with a power consumption of 1319MB/Watt compared to 877MB/Watt on the 980 PRO, it also has a nickel coating on the controller and a heat spreader label on the drive for reliable thermal management.

A heatsink version of the 990 PRO can also be purchased which offers RGB lighting and additional layer of thermal control.

The Samsung 990 PRO is available in capacities of 1TB and 2TB, it is backed by a 5-year or 600TBW limited warranty, do visit Samsung Authorized Dealers and PC retailers to purchase it.
