Smartphone brands have been trying to bring better cameras in their smartphones; this includes Samsung, the company that just bravely announced that it’s aiming for 600MP cameras.
In an editorial published today, Yongin Park — the head of Sensor Business Team — says that the human eyes match the resolution of around 500MP. The company wants to aim higher than what the human eye can perceive by developing 600MP cameras that can be used in devices other than smartphones such as drones, IoT and autonomous vehicles.
A 600MP camera sounds ridiculous now, but a 108MP camera would’ve seemed ridiculous a decade ago too so don’t be surprised when the day comes.
