The Royole Flexpai has passed JerryRigEveryThing’s bend test

The Royole Flexpai is the first foldable smartphone that you can actually purchase right now, if you can’t wait for the Huawei Mate X and Samsung Galaxy Fold.

We came across the device early this year at CES, and it amazed us with how the company is able to take advantage of its expertise in manufacturing flexible displays and put it to work on a smartphone.

Reliability has always been one of the main concerns for anyone who wants to own a foldable smartphone, and even so when Samsung failed to deliver its Galaxy Fold due to its screen issues.

Well known YouTuber JerryRigEverything has got hold a unit of the Royole Flexpai and put it to his usual stress tests, and while we already expect the phone to suffer an amount of scratches due to its plastic build, what we didn’t see it coming is how well the device managed to hold up when it is bent in the opposite direction, though the hinge broke, the display works properly with no issues, even Zack himself commended on the robustness of it.

Royole is a company that has been making flexible displays for a while now, the Chinese company also makes flexible displays on hats, t-shirts and have recently formed a partnership with AirBus to design a flexible display panels for its future cabin cockpits.
