Reports indicate that the Galaxy Note 9 will have an under-screen fingerprint reader

The fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy S8 is not the best place or easiest place to access the sensor, this was due to a last minute change that made Samsung rush on deciding the next best location of the sensor. Sadly, it was the only flaw in the beautiful looking phone. However, there has been a new report from KGI pointing out that Samsung is keeping the fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone for now.

This decision will be kept throughout the Galaxy S9 but they are targeting to the release the under screen fingerprint sensor in the Galaxy Note 9 when it releases sometime next year. They are not the only company that seems to have trouble with this feature, as Apple was also targeting to get the feature under the screen of the new iPhone but has now decided that using facial detection would be a more viable option. The only company that seems to have this feature in the bag is Vivo, there is even a video demonstrating a prototype of this feature in a 5-second video.

Seeing as how Apple has failed to put the sensor under the screen, Samsung might still have some breathing room to continue developing this technology and hopes that it can bring this feature to consumers in the next phones.
