Xiaomi’s Redmi sub-brand is preparing to launch its first proper flagship smartphone in China soon. The company’s General Manager confirmed earlier this week that the upcoming flagship smartphone will be called the K20. Alleged specifications of the Redmi flagship have now surfaced online, confirming some of the previously leaked information.
According to the latest leak, Redmi K20 will come with a 6.39-inch AMOLED notchless display panel offering Full HD+ resolution and a tall 19.5:9 aspect ratio. As confirmed already by Redmi, the phone will run on a flagship Snapdragon 855 octa-core chipset with an Adreno 640 GPU. While the leaked spec sheet does not mention the amount of RAM or onboard storage, it does confirm the Redmi K20 will have LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.1 storage.
In terms of optics, the Redmi K20 will reportedly have a triple-camera setup on the back with a 48-megapixel primary sensor coupled with an f/1.7 aperture. The secondary 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens, as well as the 8MP telephoto module, will have an f/2.4 aperture. The popup selfie camera is said to utilize a 20-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.
While Redmi has started teasing the launch of the K20 in China as well as India, the company is yet to announce exactly when the flagship smartphone will make its global debut. It is expected to be available in three colors at launch: Glacier Blue, Flame Red, and Carbon Black.
