The Redmi 7A has arrived in Malaysia at a starting price of RM399

The latest addition to the Redmi series is here in Malaysia and it’s none other than the Redmi 7A that comes with major upgrades over its predecessor. The Redmi 7A is a great entry-level device that starts at the price of RM399.

With a 5.45-inch HD+ display, the Redmi 7A is a great device that fits the hand and has no notch. While it is said to have an improved design, the Redmi 7A still closely resembles its predecessor, though the phone now has improved speakers and is also splash resistant.

Under the hood, the Redmi 7A comes with a Snapdragon 439 chipset — an upgrade over the MediaTek Helio A22 chipset found in the Redmi 6A. It’ll come with two storage configurations — 2GB RAM + 16GB storage or 2GB RAM + 32GB storage. Apart from that, the device will hold a 4,000mAh battery that almost guarantees you a full day of usage.

Moving on to its cameras, the Redmi 7A houses a 12MP rear camera on the back and a 5MP front camera on the front. The front camera supports face unlock, as the phone does not have a fingerprint sensor.

The Redmi 7A will be available in two colours — Matte Blue and Matte Black. You can get it at Authorised Mi Stores from today onwards but if you’re purchasing the phone online, only the lower-end model will be available on both Shopee and Lazada. The sales at Shopee starts on July 22 whereas the sales at Lazada begins on July 26.
